Daniel Forbes

Year graduated EBWS: 2004

High School:  EBWS

College: Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo (B.S. & M.S.)

EBWS:  What did you do after EBWS?  (e.g. where did you go to school, etc.)

Daniel:  After EBWS, I started at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in the Electrical Engineering program. I graduated from there with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

EBWS:  What are you doing now? And what do you love about it?

Daniel:  I’m now a Staff Electronic Design Engineer at Tesla. I’ve been at Tesla since graduating Cal Poly, and I love the fact that I’m working on something that benefits humanity by helping the environment.

EBWS:  Can you tell me something about Tesla that few people know?

Daniel:  While we’re mainly known for our cars, we also produce many home and industrial energy storage systems. There are whole islands that we’ve transitioned from diesel power generation to solar and battery storage!

EBWS:  How would you say that your EBWS education has helped you in achieving your goals?

Daniel:  My EBWS education provided me with a wide array of real-world skills. From using drawings to convey ideas to colleagues, to building complex assemblies with acquired hands-on skills, EBWS laid a solid groundwork for my everyday challenges.

EBWS:  Besides your interesting work, is there anything else in your life that reflects your Waldorf education?

Daniel:  Yes, I enjoy maintaining a vegetable garden at my house, I work on side projects that incorporate an artistic aspect to them, and I am always eager to lend a helping hand to others. All of these are rooted in my Waldorf education.
